Grey College is situated on 60 hectares of prime property on the western side of Bloemfontein. This tranquil environment is nevertheless close to the city centre, and within walking distance from some of the main shopping centres and sports facilities.

Grey Kollege is geleë op 60 hektaar gesogte eiendom aan die westekant van Bloemfontein.  Hierdie rustige omgewing is steeds naby die stad en binne stap-afstand van winkelsentrums en sportfasiliteite.

Historical buildings

Five of the school buildings have been declared national monuments/ Vyf van die skoolgeboue is tot nasionale monumente verklaar:

The main building was completed in 1906.   This building houses the headmaster's office, administrative offices, the computer room and offices of the Reunie and Trust.   Die hoofgebou is in 1906 voltooi. Hierdie gebou huisves die skoolhoof se kantoor, administratiewe kantore, die rekenaarkamer asook die Reünie- en Trustkantore.

Hamiltonsaal, ontwerp deur argitek Sir Herbert Baker, dien as eetsaal vir alle koshuisinwoners.  Hamilton Hall, designed by architect Sir Herbert Baker, serves as the dining hall for all boarders.

Prinsipaalswoning / Principal’s residence, die Prinsipaalswoning is in 1907 saam met Hamilton Hall, Murray-huis en Brill-huis opgerig. The Principal’s residence was built in 1907 together with the Hamilton Hall, Murray house and Brill house.

Murray House is named after Rev. Andrew Murray, the first rector of Grey College.  This hostel was successfully renovated without changing the character of the majestic building. / Murray-huis is vernoem na Ds. Andrew Murray wat ook die eerste rektor van Grey Kollege was. Hierdie koshuis is suksesvol opgeknap sonder enige verandering aan die historiese gebou se karakter.

Brill-huis is ook een van die koshuise op kampus wat pragtig opgeknap is. Dit is vernoem na nog ‘n skoolhoof, Dr. Johannes Brill. / Brill House is also one of the beautifully renovated hostels on campus.  It is named after an earlier headmaster, Dr Johannes Brill.

The Tuckshop was utilized as a hospital during the Anglo Boer War.  It was moved from its original site to the new site and is an exact replica of the original building.  It serves as the Tuckshop of the school. / Die ‘Tuckshop’ is tydens die Anglo-Boereoorlog as hospitaal gebruik.  Dit is van sy oorspronklike ligging na die huidige posisie verskuif en is ‘n presiese replika van die oorspronklike gebou. Dit word gebruik as die skool se snoepwinkel.
